When you get out of bed in the morning you do your usual routine… Make coffee, shower, dress, perhaps breakfast (if there’s time), but most of us also make our beds. Well, it turns out that making our beds may not be a healthy thing to do.
Recently Dr. Stephen Pretlove recently spoke to BBC and he had this to say about making your bed, “We know that mites can only survive by taking in water from the atmosphere using small glands on the outside of their body. Something as simple as leaving a bed unmade during the day can remove moisture from the sheets and mattress so the mites will dehydrate and eventually die.”
So essentially, leaving your bed unmade cuts down on the number of dust mites in your bed which also means that an unmade bed is a cleaner bed!
Having fewer dust mites is better for your health as dust mites can lead to asthma, allergies, and other problems. So when you get up each morning from now on, leave that bed unmade and feel healthier!
